The Decisions That Become Obvious
Sep 16, 2026Some decisions feel hard because we do not have enough information. Others feel hard because we have not decided who we are becoming.
Without a clear direction, every opportunity can look important. Every request can feel urgent. We say yes because we are afraid of closing a door, disappointing someone, or missing the thing that might finally move us forward.
Clarity changes that.
When you can see the life you are building, the future becomes a decision filter. You can ask: Does this belong in the story I want to live? Does it support the person I am becoming? Is this a meaningful yes, or is it another obligation wearing the clothes of opportunity?
The answer will not always be comfortable. Alignment may require a boundary. A hard conversation. A patient no. A courageous yes before you feel ready. But the decision itself often becomes simpler because you are no longer evaluating it in isolation.
This is one of the most powerful shifts I have watched happen in the 10-Year Letter Workshop. People arrive carrying questions about careers, relationships, health, money, and purpose. We do not hand them the answers. We create the space and process that allow what they already know to become visible.
Then something changes. The noise quiets. Priorities come into focus. People stop asking what they should want and begin naming what is true for them.
Imagine what that kind of clarity could do inside a leadership team, a company, a family, or a community. Not everyone would leave with the same future. That is not the goal. They would leave with a stronger relationship to their own future and a deeper understanding of what deserves their best energy now.
The future cannot make the decision for you. But when you give it a voice, it can make the right decision much easier to recognize.
What current decision would look different if you viewed it from ten years ahead?
The Future Doesn't Wait.
Why Should You?
The 10-Year Letter gives you a proven process to get clear about what matters most and intentionally author the future you want to live.
