Choosing Direction Over Effort
Jan 22, 2026There comes a point when effort is already there and working harder isn’t the answer anymore. What’s needed is direction.
I’ve spent years in one-on-one coaching conversations with people who are capable, thoughtful, and serious about the lives they’re building. Those conversations shaped how I listen, how I ask questions, and how I understand what actually creates lasting change. They’ve also given me a clear view of where people tend to get stuck, even when things look good on the surface.
At a certain stage, clarity wants to reach further than a single conversation.
The 10-Year Letter began as a personal practice. A way to slow down long enough to see forward clearly instead of reacting to whatever felt urgent at the moment. Writing from the future brings a different kind of perspective to the present. It simplifies decisions. It sharpens priorities. It helps intention turn into direction.
That’s why the book matters to me.
Not as something to read once and move on from, but as a process to return to. A way to step back into authorship when life feels full and fast. A tool for people who want their decisions to line up with what they’re actually building, not just what’s immediately in front of them.
Over the last year, my own work has been shifting in a quieter, more deliberate way. Less about being everywhere. More about building something that could meet people where they already are, before they ever consider raising their hand for coaching.
That’s what this season is about. The book. The movement. Work that invites clarity before commitment.
One-on-one coaching still matters to me, and I’ll continue doing it in a more focused and intentional way. The 10-Year Letter is now the starting point. It’s the front door. The place where direction begins and momentum follows.
If you’re sensing that a new chapter is taking shape, this work is for you.
As the book prepares to enter the world, I’ve opened a pre-order interest list where I’ll share updates, early access, and companion resources as they become available. The official pre-order will open in the next couple of weeks. It’s simply a way to stay connected as this unfolds.
If you’d like to be included, you can join the pre-order interest list here.
This is a moment for choosing what comes next on purpose.
If that resonates, you’re exactly where you need to be.
